Your birthstone gem drop is set with a special form of purified 24k gold called kundan using time-honored, 400 year old techniques. 

Kundan is created by repeatedly firing unrefined gold at extreme temperatures till all impurites are burned away. My inspiration comes from an old proverb from Rajasthan:

"Gold becomes kundan only after passing through fire."

As we pass through our own fires and face our struggles, we endure and overcome. In time, we heal and our own beauty, strength and grace is revealed. I use kundan in my jewelry as a metaphor for the spirit of triumph that lies within us all.
